A Year of Progress and Investment

Officers underwent advanced training in vehicle pursuit techniques and firearm confidence, while firefighters engaged in emergency preparedness drills and mutual aid efforts.

Board Policy - Public Comments
To make a public comment at a Town Board meeting, individuals must submit a request to the Clerk at least 72 hours prior to the meeting. This policy ensures the Board has sufficient time to review and determine which items will be included on the meeting agenda. The Board retains the authority to set the agenda and decide which topics will be addressed.
The Board strives to respond to all requests in writing or during a public meeting when a response is deemed necessary.
As explained by Jason:
"Submitting requests at least 72 hours in advance allows for proper agenda preparation and enables the Town to investigate each issue thoroughly. This ensures timely and informed responses during the meeting. Failure to meet this deadline often results in issues being deferred, requiring up to 30 days for additional investigation and resolution."
Urgent or Unforeseen Issues:
For issues that arise unexpectedly and are not submitted within the 72-hour timeframe, the Board may address them at its discretion during the meeting or schedule them for a future meeting. While late submissions may not guarantee immediate consideration, public attendance is always welcome, and concerns raised during the meeting will be noted for follow-up if necessary.
This policy complies with Indiana's Open Door Law (IC 5-14-1.5), which ensures all Town Board meetings are open for public observation. Public participation is encouraged within the framework of these guidelines to facilitate productive and orderly meetings.
